Senior Mechanical Engineer
Engineering and System Integration Team, Paris, Île-de-France, France - Full-time
The job
As part of the Engineering and System Integration Team in Paris, you will play a key role in the development of Welinq’s hardware technologies. You will take your experience in designing, assembling and delivering complex solutions, and apply it to Welinq’s industry-grade quantum memory product. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will join our growing R&D team to:
- Design, implement and test complex mechanical/opto-mechanical systems.
- Participate actively in the integration of prototypes and their maintenance.
- Analyze the performances of the hardware and specify control tests.
- Study and manage compliance with applicable standards of cold-atom technology and specify improvements of the systems definitions.
- Ensure consistency within the R&D projects of Welinq and compile updated system specifications with other entities of the company.
Required qualifications and Experience
- MSc, Engineering degree, or higher in Mechanical Engineering/Physics.
- 5+ years industry or academic experience in a relevant discipline.
Experience with major CAD and CAM software.
- Self-motivated, comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with people of all disciplines on complex projects and in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications and Experience
- 8+ years combined academic + industry experience, including 3+ years in industry.
Experience in designing opto-mechanical assemblies with 50+ parts.
Experience with thermal simulations.
Experience with liaising with suppliers and machining centers for parts production.
Hands on experience with CNC machining, 3D printing to quickly prototype concepts and ideas.
