The job

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team in Paris. As a key driver of our financial strategy, you will oversee all financial operations, ensuring the company’s financial health and supporting our growth in a fast-paced deep-tech and startup environment. This role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in shaping Welinq’s future by optimizing financial performance and collaborating with internal teams to drive our mission forward.

Responsibilities

As part of the leadership team, you will play a key role in our scaling efforts and will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute strategic financial plans, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling. Oversee financial reporting and analysis, ensuring data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Capital Strategy & Fundraising: Lead capital structure strategies, managing relationships with investors and financial institutions. Drive future fundraising initiatives, including venture capital and grants opportunities.
  • Operational Efficiency: Optimize finance, procurement, and legal operations, ensuring scalability and efficiency as the company grows. Manage cash-flow, liquidity, and financial processes to support strategic objectives.
  • Management of grant-funded projects: Oversee the financial management and reporting of grant-funded projects (National or Regional Grants, and, in particular, EU-funded projects), ensuring compliance with grant requirements and timely submission of reports. Coordinate with project teams to ensure proper allocation and use of funds.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Implement risk management policies, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and corporate governance. Manage audit processes and maintain robust internal controls.

Required qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in a senior financial leadership role, ideally within a deep tech company or fast-growing startup environment.
  • Proven expertise in financial planning, analysis, and strategy development.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, including venture capital and private equity.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Experience with managing and reporting on EU-funded projects, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and deadlines.
  • Deep understanding of the startup ecosystem and the unique challenges and opportunities it presents.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • The position requires English and French proficiency.
